O talentoso surfista havaiano Josh Moniz sofreu lesão no pescoço enquanto surfava em Portugal, no pico de Supertubos. De acordo com a liga mundial de surfe, WSL, a lesão é grave. Porém, o quadro de saúde do atleta é considerado estável.
Na última quinta, 07, Moniz sofreu a lesão, porém a notícia só foi divulgada pela Liga hoje, 08.
“Sofri um acidente louco, mas a boa notícia agora é que eu posso sentir e mover meus pés. Ainda não é certeza, mas devo passar por uma cirurgia no pescoço aqui em Portugal”, compartilhou nas redes o surfista.
O acidente ocorre após a eliminação do surfista da etapa da divisão de acesso à elite do surfe mundial, o QS. O evento faz parte das chamadas Challenger Series.
Josh Moniz é parte de uma família tradicional havaiana, com inúmeros talentos. De acordo com a WSL, a mãe e a namorada do surfista já estão a caminho de Portugal para acompanhar o atleta.
