Pela primeira vez na história do surfe mundial, as mulheres vão competir quartas, semi e final em Pipeline. Realmente, esse ano está atípico e muito, muito surpreendente.

Há poucas semanas perguntava às Deusas dos Mares por que cargas d’água as surfistas mulheres estão à margem do maior palanque do surfe mundial. A resposta veio rápido!
Decididamente já está mais do que na hora de igualdade, não só nas premiações, mas também nos picos de surfe, nas paradas do Circuito Mundial.
É certo que neste caso, a motivação que fez com que surfistas fossem à Pipeline, ao mesmo tempo em que ocorre o Pipe Masters, não foi assim lá muito positiva.
Presenças nada bem-vindas nesta etapa, é verdade. Mas fato é que as mulheres finalmente farão uma final em Pipe!
Brasileira na disputa
Se na categoria masculina são quatro os surfistas brasileiros na briga (Medina, Miguel Pupo, Italo e Jadson), na feminina a bandeira verde e amarela está representada por Tatiana Weston-Webb, única brasileira no Circuito Mundial de 2021.
Apesar do patriotismo e dessa forma uma tendência à torcida por Weston-Webb, nessa etapa em especial, já são todas vencedoras. Afinal, trata-se de uma conquista coletiva ter a etapa feminina em Pipeline.
