E se essa Ilha for a Anchieta, em Ubatuba? Lugar que guarda histórias incríveis: um local que abrigou centenas de prisioneiros, fugas mirabolantes, um ecossistema ímpar e hoje é uma das mais completas Unidades de Conservação do país.

Apesar de parecer roteiro de filme, essa é parte da realidade de quem se voluntaria a viver um mês alojado no Parque Estadual da Ilha Anchieta (PEIA). E não é moleza. O dia a dia inclui monitoramento de praias, trilhas, limpeza, preparo de refeições, possíveis encontros com animais peçonhentos e por aí vai.
Priscila Saviolo, 38 anos, oceanógrafa e chefe do Parque Estadual da Ilha Anchieta, destaca que a grande vantagem do programa é justamente a participação ativa da sociedade civil na gestão de áreas protegidas pelo Estado.
“Na prática é uma forma de cidadania ativa, onde os envolvidos se sentem pertencentes ao processo e gratos com a possibilidade de envolvimento e contribuir para algo que é um bem de todos, que é o meio ambiente. Para mim, esse é um dos pontos mais importantes do programa”, diz Priscila.
A presença do grupo de voluntários altera de algumas formas a dinâmica do dia a dia da equipe de gestão da Unidade. “Pessoalmente, é um desafio enorme se entregar e colaborar com todo o grupo, seja em questões que se referem ao coletivo, ou nas mais individuais”, diz Saviolo.
Energia renovada
A presença de novos colaboradores, a partir do Programa de Voluntariado do PEIA, não só intensifica a noção de participação da sociedade civil em áreas públicas, e sua importância, como também revoluciona, mesmo que por um mês, o astral do Parque.
Afinal, os voluntários chegam realmente dispostos a aprender e contribuir. “O Parque ganha uma energia nova e impulsiona toda a equipe da Unidade, são pessoas que vêm com muita garra, vontade e energia. Então, é um ponto muito positivo para a equipe da Unidade”, explica a oceanógrafa.
“Foi sensacional participar do programa, uma ótima oportunidade de crescimento pessoal e profissional. Muitas histórias foram acumuladas ao longo de um mês, é indescritível viver numa ilha com várias pessoas e compartilhar experiências”, conta Renan Dias, professor e biólogo, formado pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos e integrante do grupo de voluntários de 2021.
“Como experiência profissional só veio somar, pois me deu uma noção maior sobre as Unidades de Conservação, como é o dia a dia da gestão, problemas enfrentados. Desde o contato com o público, manutenção interna, aspectos de logística. Enfim, foi muito interessante ver de perto tudo isso. Pessoalmente, foi um crescimento absurdo, conviver com pessoas de culturas diferentes, idade, contexto. Então, nesse sentido, a experiência do voluntariado permite conhecer mais o mundo em um intervalo curto de tempo”, explica Dias.
Para Nicolas Fernandes, 23, biólogo, o voluntariado, em meio à Covid-19, trouxe à sua participação aspectos positivos e negativos. “Uma pena que a Ilha permaneceu fechada devido à pandemia, pois traria outra visão a nós voluntários, por outro lado, foi bom para termos a experiência real do dia a dia na Ilha”, conta.
A importância das Unidades de Conservação
Já passaram pelo programa de voluntariado do PEIA mais de duzentos voluntários. Esse ano, diferentemente dos anteriores, foi também por meio de patrocínio de empresas que o programa ocorreu.
As doações, destinadas à confecção de uniformes, materiais de papelaria, equipamentos de informática, entre outras coisas, foram feitas pelo Aquário de Ubatuba, Instituto Argonauta, Banana Bamboo Ecolodge, Padaria Integrale, Kairós Ecoliving, W.A. Confecções,Instituto Bacuri, Balaio Caiçara, OK Arte Digital e Nortek.
De acordo com a chefe do Parque, o patrocínio qualifica programas já existentes e fortalece iniciativas público-privadas. “O projeto ‘Adote um Parque’, criado em 2019, pela Fundação Florestal, é um exemplo que ilustra bem a importância de parcerias. Ademais, impulsiona a divulgação das áreas protegidas e a importância delas. Além de qualificar determinadas ações, como o programa de voluntariado do PEIA”, explica Priscila.
De suma relevância para a conservação ambiental e manutenção de áreas essencialmente indispensáveis para o bem-estar da humanidade, as Unidades de Conservação, historicamente desempenham papel fundamental para a permanência de diferentes ecossistemas.
Para Priscila, patrocinar o programa ou ainda adquirir selos como o ‘Adote Um Parque’, é uma maneira genuína de demonstrar a preocupação com o presente e futuro das próximas gerações.
“As Unidades de Conservação são essenciais para a nossa vivência no planeta Terra, algo muito importante para a humanidade. Logo, conseguir atrelar sua marca a um trabalho desse é muito relevante, significa que aquela marca tem um entendimento do quão é importante a conservação da nossa sociobiodiversidade”, finaliza.
Fechada para o público
A pandemia de Covid-19 obrigou o fechamento do Parque para a visitação do público. Mesmo assim, diariamente embarcações com tripulantes desavisados chegam com a intenção de conhecer o Parque. Um dos papéis dos voluntários esse ano foi justamente explicar a importância de manter o parque fechado neste período.
Em tempos normais, o Parque Estadual da Ilha Anchieta recebe cerca de 12 mil visitantes, só no mês de janeiro.
